Lions Serving through the ages

Loyalty and fidelity in service to humanity

With the tag of LIBERTY, INTELLIGENCE, OUR NATION'S SAFETY, Lions was formed in the US by Melvin Jones in 1917 to protect the country from the chaos that the first World War had initiated. 100 years later, the movement has spread to 211 countries, making it the most global thing started by man.

The Lions symbol stands for fidelity/loyalty to a friend, loyalty to a principle, loyalty to a duty, loyalty to a trust.

With over 100 years in service to humanity and 1.4 million members, Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organisation. The organisation’s Mission to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace and promote international understanding is backed by 46,710 clubs across 210 countries.

Each Lion takes great pride in his/her work as an individual and as a part of the club. To be a Lion is to believe in the world we live in. Be it helping the blind see or uplifting the unfortunate, Lions believe in their cause.

Thousands of local communities have benefitted from a global service network of volunteers who are committed to making a difference. To each global or local issue we approach with the mindset that where there is a lion, there is way.
